The Court: "Sir, has the jury reached a verdict?"

The Court: "Would you please pass it to the baliff>"
(Verdict was passed to the baliff)

A: "That's fine. Investigator, Officer, whatever." ... A: "Well, I was a fire fighter before I joined the arson division, became a POLYGRAPH EXAMINER...." Page 73 Q: "You will agree with me that in obtaining a statement from Mr.ALTHAUS that you used your experience in the PRESENT INTERVIEW OF A POLYGRAPH..." Page 98 A: "...And I WAS ABLE TO ESTABLISH THE NORM so I administrated a polygraph examination to him. (JARED ALTHAUS) Page 96 Q: "You told him (Jared Althaus) he FAILED A POLYGRAPH?
A: "I DID."
Q: "You told him he had FAILED THE POLYGRAPH? A: "YES SIR I DID."
Q: "You don't believe this statement (that Jared gave) is true then?
A: "Yes, sir. I believe the statement is."
Q: "Well, then the polygraph machine doesn't work?"
A: "I believe it works Sir.",
Q: "Well, didn't you polygraph him to see if his statement was true?"
(Objection by the prosectioner, not allowed to answer.) 4. After an appellate court received the evidence against Bob they agreed the state did NOT present direct physical evidence linking him to the crime. Opinion from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals #01-200832, August 7th 2001 Page 6 ...During this lengthy trial, the state resented evidence that SUGGESTED (Coulson) murdered his entire family in order to inherit each of his parents' estate as the sole heir. The state, however, did NOT present direct evidence, physical evidence linking (Coulson) to the crime. 5. Brad Rudolph, one of the homicide investigators in this case: There was NO forensics (DNA) evidence found on item supposedly used in the murders; NOBODY saw Bob in the neighbourhood the day of the murders; NO-ONE saw a man in the neighbourhood carrying a gas can, crowbar or back pack (As Jared alleges in his story). There was NO forensics (DNA) found in the crime scene linking Bob to the murders; There was NO evidence the day after the murders that Bob had been in a fire, explosion or fight. (As Jared alleges in his story.) Volume 42 6-7-94 Brad Rudolph Page 20 Q: "Would you tell these folks your name, please, Sir?"
A: "BRAD RUDOLPH"
Q: "And what kind of work do you do, Sir?"
A: "I'm a sargeant with the Houston Police Department." ...
A: "The Homicide Division" Page 54 Q: "Was it the stuff y'all did find, WAS IT SUBMITTED TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY TRACES OF EVIDENCE ON IT, LIKE FINGERPRINTS OR HAIR OR BLOOD OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT?"
A; "Yes, Sir, IT WAS."
Q: "And just I guess a shorthand rendition, WAS THE POLICE ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING ON THERE?"
A: "The results were NEGATIVE."
Q: "So they were NEGATIVE NOT ONLY FOR FINGERPRINTS OF THE DEFENDANT BUT FOR FINGERPRINTS OF ANYONE OR ANY KIND OF TRACE OF EVIDENCE?"
A: "CORRECT." Page 83 Q: "And all those folks ( neighbours up and down the street where the murders took place) you talked to after that investigation, there was NOTHING TO INDICATE THAT ANYBODY SAW BOB COULSON AT THAT HOUSE (crime scene) THAT DAY. Isn't that true?
A: "That;s correct" Page 87 Q: "And I'm assuming--...-- that NO ONE CALLED IN (to the police station after the murders were reported) and SAID THEY SAW A MAN IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF THAT FIRE OR IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF THESE KILLINGS CARRYING A GAS CAN SUCH AS THIS, A CROWBAR SUCH AS THIS AND CARRYING A BACKPACK. Isn't that true?
A: "That's correct." Page 91 .Q: "In short, there was nothing inside of the house that linked Bob Coulson to this (murders), period, SO FAR AS FORENSICS EVIDENCE ITSELF IS CONCERNED, as I understand it.
A: "THAT'S cORREVCT" Page 106 Q: "And during that same time (while police were questioning Jared Althaus amd Bob Coulson the DAY AFTER THE MURDERS at the police staion), THERE WAS NOTHING ABOUT BOB COULSON'S APPEARANCE TO INDICATE HE HAD BEEN IN A FIRE OR EXPLOSION OR RECENT FIGHT OR SCUFFLE. Is that true?"
A: "THAT'S CORRECT"
Q: "Because you were looking for those sort of things?"
A: "Yes, we were." 6. Homicide officer Brad Rudolph was called back to the stand to discuss three (3) comvrsations the police tape recorded between Bob Coulson and Jared Althaus where the police were trying to get Bob to confess to murdering his family. Bob made NO direct admissions or confessions in any of the taped conversations. Volume 48, 6/15/94 Brad Rudolph Page 136 Q: "And you and I both know that in that tape-recording made under police instructions, there is NO ADMISSION from Bob Coulson on that 4:30 tape. Isn't that correct?" Page 139 Q: "...At what time was the second recording made?"
A: "Recording of Mr. (Bob) Coulson and Mr. (Jared) Althaus?"
Q: "Yes"
A: "8:30pm, 9:00pm"
Q: "And there was NO DIRECT ADMISSIONS on that recording either, was there?
A: "Correct."
Q: "So at this point (after two (2) recorded conversations), there are NO ADMISSIONS you folks (police) had on tape. Is that correct?"
A: "That's correct."Page 141-143 Q: "During the recording and during the time at the motel (45 minute taped conversation) you were setting the recording up, when you were listening to the recordings and when the meeting was being had by Jared Althaus and Bob Coulson....
Q: "So you also know that, during htat long conversation that Bob Coulson over here had with Jared Althaus (in the hotel just prior to arrest), that he (Bob) made NO DIRECT ADMISSIONS then about killing his family. Isn't that correct?"
A: "That's correct" Page 144 Q: "And then all the recordings that you folks have made and that we've been abole to hear, that the jurors have been able to hear, have NOTHING TO DO WITH A DIRECT ADMISSION?"
A: "That's correct."
